Now that everyone’s had a little time to cool down from this year’s Super Bowl… let’s talk about it some more!
This edition of Threadspotting is dedicated to our own little slice of Super Bowl stardom, as one of our tees appeared during the most important part of the game – the commercials! Danny Pudi, who plays Abed on NBC’s “Community,” was spotted wearing “Winter is Coming” by Rachel Gottesman during the “Brotherhood of Man” commercial. ![]() It should also be noted that Danny successfully wore “Winter is Coming” without any wardrobe malfunctions despite all the sick dance moves he busts out in the commercial. If you want to look as fly as Danny while you’re working on your choreographed dances, make sure you request a REPRINT! Thanks Melissa for this epic sighting, and remember, as always, if you see Threadless tees in the wild, send us a note at sightings@threadless.com and we'll talk about them here... We just can’t contain our excitement for our fourth volume of Comics-On Tees launching next week, so the theme of this week’s Threadspotting is... you guessed it... COMICS! This week’s sighting comes from the 2D world created by John Layman and Rob Guillory, the two brilliant men behind the infectiously graphic CHEW comic series. ![]() Here's the character Olive Chu wearing The Madness of Mission 6 by Travis Pitts. Olive is the daughter of main character Tony Chu, an FDA agent with the psychic ability to pull information from the things (and people) he eats in order to solve crime. Believe it or not, Olive’s wardrobe is actually provided by Threadless! Flip open any issue of CHEW and you’ll find Olive wearing her favorite Threadless tees. Also, your Xbox avatar can rock the same tee as Olive. Pick it up right here in the new Threadless section of the Avatar Marketplace! The first Threadspotting post of 2012 features one very funny dude – stand-up comedian Kumail Nanjiani, who you may recognize as Pindar from TNT’s Franklin & Bash, or from a previous Threadspotting post if you’re a ThreadExpert. Kumail was spotted wearing Do a Barrel Roll by Joseph Baum on BBC America’s “The Nerdist: Year in Review,” which featured some of the best moments, video games, and other happenings in Nerdlandia over the course of 2011. ![]() Thanks Dayna for the heads up on this sighting and remember, as always, if you see Threadless tees in the wild, send us a note at sightings@threadless.com and we'll talk about them here... Ahoy, Threadlubbers!
Here at Threadless, we know just how exciting and awesome online communities can be. This week’s Threadspotting, therefore, will be dedicated to some awesome vloggers doing very special work with their vlog community– and they’ve been spotted doing so in Threadless gear! WOOT! Brothers Hank and John Green are the minds behind the very funny, perfectly nerdy Vlogbrothers channel on Youtube, but their reputations don’t stop there. The community that they’ve built around these vlogs, lovingly called Nerd Fighters, have taken it upon themselves to “fight world suck,” as they put it. Through their vlogs, music (yes, music!) and online community, these guys have been helping raise money for various charities. Both Gary and Leah have spotted Hank wearing some classic Threadless tees. Thanks guys, and thank you, Hank! ![]() This Game Sucks by David Creighton-Pester ![]() Pandamonium by Ross Zietz Make sure to check out Project for Awesome, a project these guys created that asks Youtubers to upload videos promoting their favorite charities on one specific day with the hopes of flooding Youtube with enough videos to spread some awareness and raise some money!
